On July 31, the Phoenix Quintet, an emerging chamber ensemble of five outstanding young Chinese female musicians, will present SHAN SHUI—Where Mountains and Waters Meet at Yale Center Beijing. Blending Chinese and international classics in a variety of chamber music arrangements, the performance uses the expressive timbre of Western instruments to interpret the poetic spirit of Chinese music, showcasing the artistry, creativity, and cross-cultural vision of a new generation of performers.

The program features the original work Shan Shui, specially composed by renowned Chinese composers Mingxin Du and Yong Du, alongside beloved pieces including Auld Lang Syne, Amid So Many in This World, and At the Edge of the Sky.
