Event Details
Co-organized by the Palace Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC), the exhibition "Rejoicing in Woods and Springs: a journey through Garden Cultures in China and the Wider World" is on view at the Meridian Gate (Wu men) complex. The exhibition features more than 200 representative artifacts from the leading institutions, including the Yale Center for British Art, the AIC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Palace of Versailles, the National Museum of China, and the Tianjin Museum.
On June 27, Martina Droth, Director of the Yale Center for British Art, will join experts from the Palace Museum in guiding participants through classical Chinese gardens and diverse garden traditions from around the world. During the tour, she will share insights into the exhibition's background, curatorial approach and vision, as well as the stories behind the displayed artifacts. This event has limited capacity and is open to Yale faculty, students, and alumni only.
