On October 31, join us for the fourth installment of Ted and Logan's Briefings on High-Tech Industries. This session features Edward (Ted) Snyder, former Dean and Professor of Economics and Management at the Yale School of Management, in conversation with Logan Bender '19, technology investor. Together, they will examine the objectives, tools, and outcomes of industrial policy in the high-tech sectors of China and the United States (U.S.).
What are China's policies toward semiconductors, electric vehicles, robotics, software, human capital and AI? How does the U.S. approach these same challenges? What similarities and differences exist between the two countries' strategies? How should development efforts be organized, and where can markets or governments contribute more effectively? These are among the questions Ted and Logan will explore during the event. As always, participants are encouraged to share questions and comments via the Zoom chat, and we will address as many as possible during the Q&A session following the talk.
