On November 1, bring along your "musical passport" and join us at Yale Center Beijing for an extraordinary Journey Across Strings and Keys. No need to travel farโ€”let the melodies take you around the world.


This concert features five young musicians: violinist Jing Yang MM '16 , pianist Chenxing Huang MM '16, violinist Chang He, guzheng performer Chang Su, and guitarist Yuting Wu. Together with piano, violin, guzheng, and guitar, they will build a bridge connecting East and West, inviting you to experience a dialogue that transcends language and borders.

    Jing Yang MM’16

    Violinist

    With her radiant tone and captivating stage presence, Jing Yang has established herself as a violinist of remarkable artistry and passion. She has performed at leading venues across the United States, Singapore, and China, including Lincoln Center, the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, and the Beijing Concert Hall. Her artistry has been recognized with top international awards, including second prize at the Music Teachers National Association National Finals (Young Artist Division).
    As a music educator and advocate, Jing Yang has served on juries for the United States International Music Competition and the California Music Teachers Association VOCE Competition, and her work has appeared in California Music Teacher. She holds both a Master of Musical Arts and a Master of Music from the Yale School of Music, where she studies with Hyo Kang, and a Bachelor from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, where she studies with Sergiu Schwartz.

    Pianist

    Chenxing Huang is an award-winning Chinese pianist who has captivated audiences across the United States, Europe, and Asia. She has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in New York, and the Viennese Hall in Salzburg.
    In addition to her performances, Chenxing Huang is an active educator who has been invited to give masterclasses and lectures in the United States and Asia. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance with program honors from Northwestern University, as well as an Artist Diploma and Master of Music from Yale University—both earned on full scholarship. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she was admitted with the highest entrance score.

    Chang He is an Associate Professor at the Central Conservatory of Music and a laureate of prestigious competitions, including the Seoul International Music Competition, the Hong Kong International Violin Competition, and the China Golden Bell Award. A graduate of the Central Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California, she has captivated audiences worldwide with her refined artistry and expressive depth.
    Her performances have spanned Asia, Europe, and the United States, with acclaimed appearances in Osaka, Los Angeles, Sydney, Hamburg, Madrid, Colombo, and across China. She has collaborated with leading conductors, and her interpretations—from Baroque classics to modern showpieces—are praised for their vitality and emotional resonance.

    Chang Su

    Guzheng Performer

    Chang Su is a guzheng performer and Associate Professor at the Central Conservatory of Music, where she also serves as Director of the Plucked String Division II in the Department of Chinese Traditional Music. A recipient of multiple top national and international awards, including the CCTV National Ethnic Instrumental Competition and the YouTube Symphony Orchestra Soloist Competition in the United States, she has performed in over forty cities across China and in more than thirty countries worldwide, collaborating with over thirty renowned conductors.
    Chang Su has authored and published sixteen textbooks and albums and frequently serves as a jury member for major competitions, including the Eastman International Music Festival in New York, the Sino-German International Competition, and the Hong Kong International Guzheng Competition.

    Yuting Wu

    Guitarist & Art Administrator

    Yuting Wu is an accomplished arts administrator and guitarist whose work bridges performance and cultural leadership. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she received the distinguished Megna Award.
    Currently serving as CEO of the International Music and Arts Association, she draws on her rich performance background and strategic vision to create meaningful cultural exchanges. She has held leadership roles at the Tianjin Juilliard School and played a pivotal role in establishing the Qingdao Yehudi Menuhin School.
