Event Description
This talk explores the life story of Buddha ลฤkyamuni in literature and art as imagined by the acclaimed seventeenth-century Buddhist master Tฤranฤtha. The figure of ลฤkyamuni formed a central identifying feature of Tฤranฤtha’s monastic seat in western Tibet, and the talk draws upon the extraordinary collection of literary and visual materials associated with the site.
