Yale Club of Beijing, Yale Center Beijing and Lean In Beijing jointly invite you to an "off-the-record" discussion with Yale alumna, British Ambassador to China Barbara Woodward.

The language of the Ambassador's remarks will be English. The language of the Q&A session will be Chinese and English.

Tickets are free. Both Yale and non-Yale alumni are welcome. Preference for entry goes to Yale alumni, and successful registrants will be notified closer to the date. Only registered ticket-holders will be admitted.

    Barbara Woodward

    British Ambassador to China

    Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China, took office in February 2015. She joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1994. Prior to her current role, she was Director General for Economic & Consular Affairs at the FCO from 2011-2014. Barbara has worked on the economic and security aspects of foreign policy on China, (where she was Deputy Ambassador in 2007-2009), and Russia (1994-1998), as well as in the EU and at the UN. Barbara received an MA in History from St Andrews University (1983) and an MA in International Relations from Yale University (1990). She was awarded an OBE (1999) and a CMG (2011) by Her Majesty the Queen.
