The Fourth Industrial Revolution is characterized by new technologies that are quickly and radically impacting methods of production in all disciplines, economies and industries. In this panel, we will explore the future of employment, examining the general impact of new technologies on the labor structure of society and related social consequences. We will also investigate the restructuring of our education system and potential retraining of professionals to meet future employment demands. Finally, we will discuss strategies for young professionals’ careers in the face of a new era of productivity.
The language of the event will be Chinese or English depending on each of the speaker's preference, with simultaneous translation into either languages.
The panel will discuss:
- The technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will eradicate the need for human “work” in many capacities, such as administrative, manufacturing and production roles. Should we be alarmed by this pending phenomenon?
- Which existing roles will have the easiest transition? What new types of roles will emerge?
- Which actions should be taken by businesses to limit the disruptive effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution?
- What role can governments play to ease the transition of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the workforce?
